WAKO Europe members
Dear friends,
Another great WAKO Championships is just behind us. The beautiful city of San Sebastian hosted more than 2,000 participants of WAKO European Championship.
Competitors from 36 countries fought for the medals, honor and glory. They have proved to all of us that our sport and our WAKO federation has a bright future. The strongest impression left by the youngest, who showed tremendous energy and a desire to compete and win.
They showed us all the best of our sport and we have to be proud of them.
The organization of the Championship was at a high level thanks only to our Organizing Committee leaded by Mr. Roy Baker. They have done a great job.Apart from that we had problems with accommodation and transport of some National teams during their stay in San Sebastian. WAKO Europe has done all what is possible to organize this Championships on high level. We have visited San Sebastian in two occasions prior to Championships, one visit was last year another in February this year. We have made inspection of Arena and all hotels offered to us by Promoter. In the name of WAKO Europe we choose and agreed about officials hotels with Promoter. But, unfortunately Promoter did not respect agreement and terms of Contract signed with WAKO Europe and he changed, for unknown reasons to us, some of the hotels which were not the level we can accept.
For this once again on behalf of the WAKO Europe and myself I apologize to all of you. I promise that we will do everything to make sure that World Championships in Belgrade and Dublin will be organized on highest level for the benefit of all participants.
Once again I want to thank you all for participating in the WAKO European Championship, my congratulations to all competitors on the results achieved, the Referees for a fair and correct job they have done and to members of the Organizing Committee for the great effort and work, which made it possible for this championship to be held at a level that WAKO and our sport deserve.
I am looking forward to see all of you in Belgrade.
